Merran Wallis and her 'bit of a keeper' Remlaps Choice were fourth in the CIC1* at Goulburn
Merran Wallis enjoyed a good weekend at the NSW State Championships winning the EvA95 Division A riding Superclass and also coming fourth in the CIC1* on her ‘bit of a keeper’ horse Remlaps Choice. Although Merran now happily competes at lower levels she spent nine years in the UK competing at international level including placing second at the Burghley Horse Trials in 2000. Finishing second to Andrew Nicholson on Mr. Smiffy Merran was riding Gershwin, a horse familiar to many as Andrew Hoy’s 1998 Atlanta Olympic mount, but who was owned by and returned to Merran after the Olympics
Following a break from riding, Merran has now returned to the Australian eventing scene with a competitive team of horses at all levels and a boutique equestrian business operating in the Monaro region of Southern NSW close to the town of Cooma.
In between horses coming through the road crossing at Goulburn we had a very quick chat with Merran about her weekend and the two horses she had there
