Vittoria Panizzon interview

No wonder Vittoria loves jumping this horse! Borough Pennyz and Vittoria at the Festival of British Eventing

We were delighted to hear that Vittoria Panizzon was making her very first, if very quick, trip to Australia and that she was managing to fit in a clinic on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne. Her friend from the UK who is now based in Australia, Charlotte Littlefield, organised the day which consisted of show jumping work in the arena in the morning and cross country at Sarah Madden’s beautiful property close by in the afternoon.

Vittoria couldn’t have been happier that it was a warm sunny day as she was aiming to get a tan as soon as possible and, as she pointed out, it was going to be a few months before she was going to see bright sunshine again once she gets back to the UK!

2013 was a great year for Vittoria finishing the year in 13th place on the FEI World Eventing Rankings thanks to some great results including 7th at Badminton  on Borough Pennyz, 8th at the European Championships in Malmo, also on Borough Pennyz, and winning the Test Event for the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games on Merlot’s Magic.

Although Vittoria, whose mother is Scottish and father Italian, grew up in Italy she moved to the UK when she was 17 years old to pursue her eventing career. She also attended Bristol University where she gained a degree in Biology and she is now based in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire. At the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games she finished 16th individually on Rock Model and placed 11th in 2012 at the London Olympic Games on Borough Pennyz.

We have some articles coming up soon on the clinic (including some manoeuvres we bet you haven’t tried before) but first we had a chat with Vittoria
