Zara and Mike Tindall visit Australia each year for the Magic Millions Carnival and this January they decided to spend some quality together in front of the camera (making it ‘probably the longest time we’ve sat down and just talked to each in nine years!’ says Zara)
The almost two-week long celebration of horses, including a Showjumping and Polo Day boasting $1.45 million in prize money, the Magic Millions Sale and Raceday and a host of other activities on the Gold Coast in Queensland, organised by Katie and Gerry Harvey, is clearly a favourite time for the couple (and we’re delighted to hear they think that Australia is all about fun!)
But the fun is really in this interview/chat between Mike and Zara
Zara talks about not just the Magic Millions Carnival but gives an insight into her own life with horses. From growing up around her four-legged friends within a very eventing-centric family, Zara moved towards eventing as a career (although hurdling and gymnastics almost got in the way) to eventually become European and World Champion with the fabulous Toytown and win team silver at London 2012 Olympic Games on board High Kingdom
Zara also talks about her top horses, being an eventing mum, gender equality in sport, how eventing could be made more accessible, what ‘itches’ she still needs to scratch and lots more in this entertaining and fascinating interview by someone who knows her so well ……….
