Olympic bronze medallist Jonathan (Jock) Paget has been given the ride on Shady Grey, a horse previously ridden by his team mate and friend Andrew Nicholson.

Jock thanks Andrew on his Facebook page and says that Shady Grey - owned by Lucy Allison and Olivia Berry, is the latest 4* addition to the Paget Eventing team that he will be competing in 2013.

Shady Grey is a 16.3hh grey 10 year old thoroughbred by the National Hunt sire Beauchamp King; he was fourth at Blair Castle CCI 3* and 10th at Saumur CCI 3*in 2011 and he finished 21st at Luhmuhlen 4* this year with Andrew.

Earlier in 2012 Andrew gave the ride on another 4* horse, Armada owned by Paul Ridgeon, to British rider Oliver Townend. Oliver and Armada finished fourth in the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials this year and Oliver openly thanked Andrew for his generosity and support in recommending that he take the ride on the sometimes unorthodox but talented Spanish bred horse

Jock is currently in Germany training with Olympic champion Michael Jung – maybe Michael has a spare horse for him too? It could be quite a stable at Paget Eventing in 2013 ........
