Alex Townsend from Wallaby Hill is always looking for new and innovative ideas to bring more people into the equestrian world and the ‘Jumping with the Wallabies’, which takes place on the weekend of 20/21 October should certainly do just that.
Show jumpers will be enticed by great showjumping tracks going up to Grand Prix while Rugby followers can come and meet some of the Wallabies as they run a Rugby Union Clinic on the Sunday.
Geoff Spears, one of the Wallaby Hill team, said "We know that quite often mums and daughters go off to horse events on the weekends while the dads and sons go off to Rugby - the idea behind 'Jumping with the Wallabies' is to bring the whole family together for a great weekend of entertainment. We will have various tradestands and a VIP area and hope to showcase this great venue and the area we live in - the Southern Highlands."
The call has now gone out to the eventers to join in and represent their sport in the ‘Eventers vs Show jumpers’ competition where show jumpers will be asked to jump some cross country fences and eventers some show jumps.
At the recent Berrima Horse Trials Alex told the crowd all about the concept of Jumping with the Wallabies – click below to hear what she had to say.
