Victorian eventing rider Murray Lamperd and his horse Under the Clocks will be jetting off overseas to the famous bluegrass of Kentucky on April 2nd. Murray, who placed third in the CCI 4* at the Australian International 3 Day Event in 2012, has decided to compete at another major international event before the pressure really starts to build leading up to the World Equestrian Games next year.
Murray had a very good year in 2012 with the off the track thoroughbred Under the Clocks, a horse that raced on the flat and over hurdles before turning his hand (or legs) to eventing. With this 10 year old brown gelding Murray is making a comeback to top level competition after a few years focusing more on family and building up his business at the Bellarine Horse Riding Centre
Murray will take advantage of the opportunity to not only gain international experience but also enjoy a family holiday. Debbie Higgs found out more about the plans for the trip to Rolex Kentucky in the interview below and we’re delighted that Murray will be updating us on the trip and more in his blog starting soon here on An Eventful Life
