Déjà Vu for Chris Burton

No wonder he's smiling! Libby catches a happy and relaxed Chris

Chris Burton leads the CCI 4* at Les Etoiles de Pau after the dressage phase – this year on his horse Underdiscussion, this year's CCI 2* winner at Tattersalls. Last year Chris led the competition from the start riding Holstein Park Leilani but sadly dropped a few places in the final show jumping phase; he has had a lot more international experience since then and it will be interesting to see the outcome this year. Chris takes the lead on a score of 34.8 (which included a 10 from one judge for the final halt) with the New Zealander Jonathan Paget and Clifton Promise on 36.7 points followed by German Michael Jung with Leopin (38.3 pts)

Another Kiwi, Andrew Nicholson is in fourth place (39.3) riding Nereo who he predicted would be his top horse and is in 14th place on Mr Cruise Control. Australian Bill Levett who had the lead for a while on a score of 41.30 on Hippolyte is now in seventh place.

William Fox –Pitt who led on the first day of dressage on Chilli Morning is now in 13th (41.3) but his other horse Bay My Hero who he rode on the second day moved up to eighth place on  a score of 41.7.
