Mary King’s Apache Sauce put to sleep

Sad news that Mary King’s former 4* ride Apache Sauce has been put down whilst competing at Weston Park in the UK this weekend.

Apache Sauce was retired from 4* competition in May of this year and the ride was taken over by Mary’s daughter Emily, a successful Junior rider who won silver at this year’s European Junior Eventing Championships

According to various sources, Apache Sauce incurred an injury at Fence Two on the cross country course of the CCI YR 2* although neither horse nor rider fell and Emily was unhurt.

Our condolences to Mary and Emily on the loss of their great horse.
