The Aussie team has finally won the Trans-Tasman event on Kiwi soil, with Shane Rose leading from start to finish, Shane added just 6.2 penalties to his dressage score to complete on 53.8.

Kiwi rider Joseph Waldron finished in second place behind Shane adding just 12.4 penalties to his dressage score to finish on 74.2. Aussie Nat Blundell finished with 88.8 adding nothing to yesterday's score with one of only two double clear scores today.

It was smiles all round on the Aussie team this morning with Christine Bates arriving back after a trip to hospital yesterday. Although she looks a lot worse for wear, Christine's injuries are superficial and we will see her back on Adelaide Hill in three weeks time at Sydney.

The final member of the Aussie team was Katja Weimann who finished with BP Gallantry on 98.2, while the weekend may not have been to plan for Katja she certainly gained some valuable experience being part of the Aussie team.

The young Kiwi's did their nation proud too, with most London hopefuls already in the UK, the next generation of Kiwi eventers got to strut their stuff on one of the world's toughest eventing courses. I do believe that combinations that can successfully complete here are setting themselves up well to put in a good showing at almost any other event in the world.

I must give thanks to the wonderful team at Kihikihi who have made us feel welcome and part of their team. It is a lovely event, set in a most beautiful location. I do hope that I will have the opportunity in the future to return to Kihikihi.

Final thanks to the wonderful Libby Law, she is a fantastic photographer, great fun to work with and makes my job so easy. How can you not enjoy putting words to such photographs. Thanks Libby.

I have more content I need to sort through but for now I leave you in Kihikihi.
