Having recently lamented my lack of sartorial elegance in my blog, readers may think that I am the last person who should judge the Best Dressed at the second horse inspection at Puhinui
However as An Eventful Life was donating a free annual subscription to the website as the prize, I was roped in to judge Sunday morning’s trot up. Thankfully I had some very capable assistants and the weather was beautiful enabling the guys and gals to strut their stuff looking elegant rather than drenched
Before we announce the winners (yes, we ended up choosing two – one male and one female) and our Highly Commended list, let’s just give an idea of what we were looking for as I’m sure that, eventers being a competitive lot, there may be some protests lodged.
- Elegance (could you pass muster at Badminton or Burghley?)
- Practicality (let’s face it, this isn’t a nightclub)
- Sensible footwear (as we commented at the Australian International 3 Day Event, it seems an awful waste to work hard getting ready for a 3 Day Event for the rider to be vetted out with a broken foot at the trot up)
The two winners receive a free annual subscription to An Eventful Life 4* Membership including a chance to win a trip for two to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy next year
BIG DRUM ROLL………………………..and the winners are
