Look who we ran into at Puhinui International Horse Trials! He may be wearing a New Zealand outfit but it’s Australia’s top eventing volunteer Rod Winchester.
The Kiwi outfit remains in New Zealand, along with his boots, when he heads back to Australia and each time Rod turns up to help out at an event in New Zealand, the organisers manage to move his gear to wherever (including bedding!), usually thanks to an obliging rider travelling to the event
Rod is probably one of the most familiar faces at events in Australia but he also loves to help out across the Tasman. Rod is the Stable Manager at Puhinui this year and he also provides the Awards for the Highest Placed Junior and Young Rider in the CCN105 class
Looks like he’s already having a good time!
