Eventing rider and coach Nick Gauntlett has been awarded the prestigious title of the Fellow of The British Horse Society
Following two days of assessment Nick has become a BHS Fellow (Eventing) and now joins 79 BHS Fellows appointed since the qualification was initiated in 1949. The two day exam assesses coaching skills, practical demonstrations, theoretical knowledge, stable management and the history of equitation, resulting in the highest recognition of professional standards across the equine industry that is respected around the world
As an rider, Nick has ridden to top level on a range of different horses and has won a number of National and International competitions up to 3*. He has also produced some wonderful young horses that have gone on to great success, including the 2014 Badminton winner Chilli Morning, now ridden by William Fox-Pitt and Grand Manoeuvre, now ridden by Laura Collett.
Nick runs his own equestrian business, Chescombe Eventing in Gloucestershire but has been a regular visitor to the southern hemisphere where he competed on a new acquisition, El Grado in 2014.
