Top British Eventing Riders 2015

For the second year running Oliver Townend has finished the season at the top of the British Eventing points table, finishing the year with 2,086 points, well ahead of second placed Andrew Nicholson on 1262 points and Tim Price with 1200 points.

Another Antipodeans rider, Australia’s Chris Burton is in fourth place on 1149 points while Paul Tapner takes 10th spot (879) and Mark Todd finished the year in seventh place (1009).

Nicola Wilson is the highest placed British female rider in sixth place (1034) and two other top British lady riders Pippa Funnell (902) and Izzy Taylor (894) are in eighth and ninth spots. As not only the highest placed rider but also the highest placed British rider, Oliver also keeps the Tony Collins Award for a second year

 

Top British Eventing Horses 2015

Three horses ridden by New Zealand riders top the leader board with Tim Price’s Wesko (owned by Christina Knudsen and the Wesko Syndicate) highest BE point earning horse on 415 points with a last minute surge thanks to their performance at Les Etoiles de Pau.

Sir Mark Todd’s Leonidas II (owned by Di Brunsden and Peter Cattell) has led for much of the season but finishes in second place on 352 points and Mark’s NZB Campino (owned by Sir Peter Vella) is in equal third place on 338 points with Astier Nicolas’ Piaf De B’Neville, the CCI4* winner at Pau

Emily King’s strong debut at Pau means that her horse Brookleigh (298) finished the year in sixth place behind Jonelle Price’s Classic Moet in fifth (318) and Kitty King has the only two horses ridden by a British rider in the top 10 with Persimmon in seventh place (289) and Ceylor LAN in 10th place (256). Chris Burton’s TS Jamaimo finishes in eighth place (285) and Tim Price has another in the top 10 with Ringwood Sky Boy in ninth (282)

As the winner, Wesko wins the the Calcutta Light Horse Trophy which will be presented to the owners at the forthcoming Event Horse Owners Association dinner
