The talented young horse ridden by Pippa Funnell and owned by Mr Jonathan and Mrs Jane Clarke, Billy Beware, has been withdrawn from the British squad for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in August

Billy Beware and Pippa finished sixth at Badminton this year but it appears that the horse has shown signs of lameness after his last run at Aston-le-Walls on July 18th.  The lameness is still being investigated and so far the good news is that the scans are clear but the injury has ruled him out of contention for Normandy

Yogi Breisner, Eventing Chef d’Equipe commented “It is always unfortunate when a squad member has to pull out, but Billy Beware is a very promising horse and I am looking forward to seeing him back competing in the future”.

The replacements for Billy Beware and Izzy Taylor’s Allercombe Ellie will be announced in the coming weeks.
