Australia has the highest number of riders (14) in the top 50; there are 5 New Zealanders (Andrew Nicholson, Jonathan Paget, Mark Todd, Caroline Powell and Donna Smith), 10 British riders, 5 German, 7 American, 2 Italian, 2 Irish, 2 Swedish, 1 French, 1 Dutch and 1 Belgian rider.

In fact, if you take into account that Boyd Martin (10th) and Phillip Dutton (9th) were both born in the Southern Hemisphere, you have 21 of the 50 hailing from this region. Not sure what it means but wish we could bottle and sell it!

There are also several Australian riders knocking on the door of the top 50 with Will Enzinger, Rob Palm, Christine Bates and Soigne Jackson in the top 100
