Team GB WEG squad withdrawal

Could Orlando be Izzy's replacement horse for the WEG?

Team GB has suffered one of the first WEG squad disappointments, with Izzy Taylor’s Allercombe Ellie being withdrawn from the British line-up

The British Eventing statement says that

“Unfortunately the decision has today been made to withdraw Izzy Taylor and her ride Allercombe Ellie owned by Ms Frances Carter and Miss Susan Holroyd, from the British World Equestrian Games Eventing squad.

Due to a minor set-back during training, the horse will not be available for the Games.

An announcement regarding a replacement combination will be made in due course”

Izzy last competed Allerombe Ellie at Salperton in the Advanced Intermediate where they placed fourth. Along with Piggy French riding Jakata and three of the British WEG squad nominated riders, William Fox-Pitt, Tina Cook and Zara Phillips, Izzy has been named on the British Nations Cup squad for Aachen, riding Orlando. Orlando has had good results recently with a second place at Bramham CCI3 and third at Chatsworth CIC3*

Britsih Eventing did not name reserve horses or riders in their original announcement but both Harry Meade (Wild Lone) and Gemma Tattersall (Arctic Soul) are believed to be in the mix
