In recent years Tim Boland has managed to combine his hectic lifestyle as pre trainer and event rider with that of being President of the SIEC at Sydney Eventing Committee. “I’m pretty good at delegating,” admitted Tim “and I’m certainly not as hands on as Shane is with Equestriad. I do take part in the decision making process and I come along to meetings but it is really the committee behind me who make this event happen.”

We caught up with Tim at SIEC last weekend just after the decision had been made to cancel the cross country phase of the event. “When we looked at the water jump on Sunday morning it was a pretty easy decision to make. At least we have really good arenas to run the show jumping phase on. They hold up really well to the wet weather and I haven’t seen anyone slipping here today.”
