Tom McEwen has moved to the top of the FEI Eventing World Rankings and Australia has a new top ranked rider
Tom’s individual fourth placing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on board JL Dublin moved him from third place in June with a total of 561 points, replacing last month’s number one and his Paris teammate Ros Canter, now in second place (519). Britain still holds the top three spots with Oliver Townend in third (492), having picked up some valuable points for his win at Burgham CCI4*.
Belgium’s Lara De Liedekerke-Meier remains in fourth place (470) on the rankings after placing 13th at Paris 2024 on Origi while Boyd Martin leads the charge for the USA, moving up one spot to fifth (458).
New Zealand’s Tim Price has also moved up from ninth into sixth place (438) again thanks to his Olympic sixth place on Falco but the two big jumps into the top 10 come from Paris 2024 individual bronze medallist Laura Collett, moving from 25th into seventh place (401) and Switzerland’s Felix Vogg, moving from 21st to eighth place (390) on the rankings.
Yas Ingham and Wills Oakden have dropped a few places to ninth and tenth respectively and the Olympic individual gold medallist, Germany’s Michael Jung, someone who is no stranger to being on top of the World Rankings as well as an Olympic podium, is lurking just outside the top 10 once again in 11th place, moving up from 41st.
Highest placed Australian – Chris Burton
After a spectacularly successful return to the sport this year, resulting in individual silver at Paris 2024, Chris Burton once again features on the World Eventing Rankings, jumping from 151st place in June to 23rd.
Last month’s top ranked Australian rider, Olivia Barton, is in 37th place and Andrew Cooper is also in the top 50 at 46th place.
