Megan and History
Read our CIC classes report here
Megan Jones not only won the CIC2* on Kirby Park Impress at the Pakenham Produce & Saddlery Tonimbuk Horse Trials but also won the Hygain EvA95 on a new ride for her, History. We’ll be bringing you more about this impressive nine year old grey owned by Sadie Michell and just starting his eventing career with Megan but we can’t help thinking that it looks a bit like Megan is riding Jester again!
They won this class on a score of 33, having added only 1.6 time penalties to their dressage score of 29.4, ahead of Emily Anker and Yoick’s Masterclass in second place on 41.20 and Leesa Clausing riding Willtony Galaxy on 45.70. We talked to Megan before she hit the road back to South Australia about how her weekend had gone and the coming South Australian championships next weekend at Lockington
It takes more than a bold leap into the water to unseat Amanda Ross!
In the other EvA95 classes Amanda Ross had a win on a new horse for too in the Equissage EvA95B. You can hear our interview with Amanda about her new ride Sandy Creek Keiwa in the Saturday article when they were placed second after the dressage behind Teegan Ashby and Desert Storm. Teegan retired the young stallion on cross country and Amanda stepped up to the plate with a double clear cross country round for a win on a score of 47.70
Kylie Pedder and Aris Amerigo (above), a seasoned partnership that always look good on course, won the Hard Az Concreting EvA95C, adding nothing to their dressage score of 34.60. However the fourth place in this class was taken by a much less experienced competitor, 11 year old Sophie Bennett. Sophie was riding the 23 year old In Your Dreams a horse that has had a successful career with various riders over the years and is still looking fabulous; 'Dreamy' also won the best performed Off The Track thoroughbred in their section, which is testament to the longevity os thoroughbreds! Well known eventer and coach of many young riders in the area Del Ogilvy has been helping Sophie with her riding and says that this is one of the most naturally talented young riders she has known “I’m bringing in other coaches now to help Sophie in the various disciplines and I’m acting as ‘Mummy Del’” she says with a smile. We caught up with Sophie and the owner of In Your Dreams, Sally Morrison, after Sophie’s cross country round.
