2020 FEI Eventing Summit

2020 will see a four-yearly FEI Eventing Summit taking place from Friday 24th January to Sunday 26th January at Aintree Racecourse in England

Each year the FEI Eventing Committee organises the FEI Eventing Risk Management (NSO) Seminar and Forum which sees the National Safety Officers from each country gather to exchange ideas and data but every four years this gathering is expanded to host the Eventing Summit

The focus of the 2020 Eventing Summit will be The Future of Eventing – What should eventing look like in 10 years?  Guest speakers have yet to be confirmed but two of the topics are set as;

The External view of the Sport - How is Equestrian sport in general, and Eventing in particular, viewed from the outside, and

Public perception of the use of horses in sport, media communications/relations, welfare including falls and the use of the whip - a presentation by Aintree Racecourse / British Horseracing Association

David O’Connor, Chair of the FEI Eventing Committee, will give a presentation regarding the Internal Structure of the Sport and Structure of competition system/qualifications (5 *Long and Short competitions, 2*-3* L competitions, 2*-4* S competitions, Indoor) and the Risk Management Committee will present on both days
