Following the recommendation of the Eventing Committee, the FEI Bureau yesterday approved a modification to Art 548.1 referring to the penalties for activating a frangible device as well as a rewording of the explanatory note on the penalties for frangible devices.

The modification is made in the interest of the risk management programme, following meetings with Eventing Riders and 3/4 star Eventing Course designers who expressed concerns that the current rules would restrict the use of frangible devices.

In accordance with Article 20.3 of the FEI Statutes, the changes to the rules as approved by the Bureau will be implemented on 31 March 2015.

The Eventing Riders Association pushed strongly for the change to be made followed the new ruling which came into place on 1st January 2014 and were part of the meeting held on March 10th to discuss the changes and their impact on the sport
