International Helmet Awareness Day 2014

These guys know the rules - do you?

Riders4Helmets is once again hosting the International Helmet Awareness Day on July 12th 2014.

The Riders4Helmets campaign started in America in 2010 as a result of Olympic rider Courtney King-Dye’s accident. The aim of the campaign is to educate equestrians of all ages, disciplines and locations the benefits of wearing a properly fitting, secured and certified helmet.

In 2013 International Helmet Awareness Day was supported by 12 helmet manufacturers in 8 countries; in 2014 already over 240 retailers in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have registered to participate.

These participating retailers will be offering discounts on helmets on July 12th but this is only one of the benefits from the day. An educational programme is planned with live streaming “Get Educated” webinars featuring experts in related fields such as Traumatic Brain Injury and Concussion, Psychology, Neuro Physiotherapy, Helmet Manufacturers, Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors, Helmet Testing Agencies as well as input from leading riders.
