Earlier this year young riders in New Zealand enjoyed some great coaching from one of their country’s top riders, Jock Paget. Libby Law sat in one of his clinics to bring us a photo gallery and we had some great feedback from the young riders who participated (click here to read the article about the clinic and some of Jock's training tips)
Sadly, due to the current situation where Jock is awaiting results from the B sample taken from his horse Clifton Promise at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, this December he will be unable to participate in these clinics.
The Eventing New Zealand ESNZ Eventing Performance Programme had invited Junior Riders to a training opportunity with Jock in Taupo on 2nd3rd December and Christchurch on 4th/5th December and Jock says in today’s interview with New Zealand TV One
"To be honest I don't think ESNZ has too much choice, it is very disappointing. I do really like to work with the younger riders and I had a great time here last year and was looking forward to see the progress between the years."

Jim Ellis, ESNZ CE explained that "Under FEI rules, any rider under provisional suspension due to a horse having returned a positive test, cannot compete or have any official role at any FEI or national level event. To avoid any doubt ESNZ takes this to mean any involvement in official ESNZ activity including clinics such as were planned.
Jock is fully understanding of ESNZ’s position. He is clearly disappointed at not being able to continue to be involved in these official ESNZ clinics but is completely supportive of ESNZ’s position while the FEI legal process is ongoing."
