After a rather frantic time (for journalists at the very least!) in April/May 2023, the FEI CCI5* calendar for early 2024 is looking more manageable.
Due to the change in dates in 2023 for the Adelaide Equestrian Festival, which now hosts the first CCI5* of the calendar year instead of its previous November slot, three CCI5* events at Adelaide (AUS), Kentucky (USA) and Badminton (UK) were held on three consecutive weeks in 2023.
It presented a fabulous opportunity for one eventing fan, Australia’s Michael Barnes, who attended all three, the 15 Stars in 18 days tour! (watch our interview with Michael at Kentucky here)
In 2024, the calendar will be slightly less hectic, but Adelaide and Kentucky are still back-to-back. There will be one week’s break between Kentucky and Badminton, the two events which are likely to see competitors wishing to compete at both.
The dates for the first three FEI CCI5* eventing competitions in 2024 are:

18th – 21st April 2024
Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event
27th – 30th April 2024
Badminton Horse Trials
8th – 12th May 2024
