Guest selectors Zara Phillips and Ann Taylor will today be choosing the UK based horses for the new addition to the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials schedule – the Elite Event Horse Auction.
Blenheim is partnering with Brightwells, one of the UK's leading equestrian and bloodstock auctioneers, in an exciting new venture for 2014 - a sale of top event horses. The sale will offer approximately 25 high quality potential and proven event horses all of whom will have been pre- assessed for type, conformation and jumping attitude and passed a rigorous five stage vetting and X-Ray assessment.
The selections have already been completed in Holland, with six horses accepted including the 7yo gelding called Hilaire Ter Bunder, who has already qualified to represent Holland at the World Championships in Lion D’Angiers with Jan van Beek.
A selection of high quality 4, 5 and 6 year olds, plus a limited number of intermediate and advanced event horses will be stabled on site at Blenheim from Tuesday 9th September. Competitors and owners will have the facility to view and try the auction horses on the days leading up to the auction, which will be held in the Churchill Arena on Friday afternoon.
We’ll be at Blenheim from September 10th – 14th to cover the eventing action but we are really looking forward to checking these young horses out too!
