Paul Tapner was delighted with his win at this year's Gillespie Macandrew Hopetoun Town and Country Fair last weekend. Riding the 12 year old grey gelding Kilronan, he took out the CIC 3* ahead of Niklas Bschorer of Germany and Charlotte Agnew of Great Britain. Paul was also 12th on his homebred stallion Wickstead Didgeridoo

After his win on the Tapner Eventing facebook page Paul said " Now the long drive back, but all on a high so the music is being turned up and you may hear us singing as we drive back down south!!!!"

Paul had a bit of a drive to defend his title as Hopetoun House is located north of the border near Edinburgh but was rewarded with softer ground on the cross country thanks to some welcome rain after England’s unusual heatwave recently. Taking place at one of Scotland's finest stately homes, the International Horse Trials also features the Gillespie Macandrew Hopetoun Town and Country Fair providing shopping, Scottish food and drink, live music, family entertainment and country pursuits.

Paul and Kilronan were recently named on the Equestrian Australia half-yearly review of the ‘2014 Normandy’ squad
