Tim Boland, who re-routed from Blenheim last week after a disappointing dressage, has had a much better start at Ballindenisk in Ireland.
Tim and his top horse GV Billy Elliott lead the CCI3* after Thursday’s dressage with a more typical score of 43 (their score at Blenheim was 50.2) ahead of Oliver Townend riding Skyhills Cavalier (47.6) and Ireland’s Sam Watson riding Horsewear Lukeswell (47.8) while fellow Australian Kevin McNab is in 14th place riding Dustman (58.2)
Tim also has got off to a good start in the CCI1* riding Wild Duchess to be in second place behind Vittoria Panizzon on Borough Free Flight. Tim and Wild Duchess, the young mare previously ridden by Chris Burton, are on a score of 39.4 to Vittoria’s 36.9.
Britain’s Izzy Taylor riding Call Me Maggie May leads the CCI2* but Tim is also in fifth place in this class riding Napoleon VIII. Kevin McNab riding Lucinda Fredericks’ Shelter Cove is in 10th place
