The first horse inspection at Tattersalls was a busy affair with three lanes in different areas and seven classes. All went well for Australian and New Zealand combinations and we’ll have a full photo gallery from Libby Law tomorrow but here are a few shots from the trot up day

Tomorrow afternoon will see the first dressage classes including Australian riders Chris Burton on Graf Liberty -CCI* and Underdiscussion -CCI**, Brook Staples on Ever So Clever - CCI***, Matt Ryan on Bonza Moorabinda and Bonza Rusty May -CCI** plus great international riders such as William Fox-Pitt, Zara Phillips, Oliver Townend, Mark Todd, Dan Jocelyn and Camilla Speirs to mention just a few.

Zara is missing a big weekend at home in the UK where the other members of the Royal Family will be attending the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant on Sunday. The Pageant will be a highlight of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and marks just six weeks to the opening of the Olympic Games. Over one thousand boats will take part including the Royal Barge which Zara would have been on with the rest of the family were she not competing at Tattersalls. However no doubt the Queen, being a horsewoman herself, fully understands
