Andrew Nicholson won the inaugural Amlin Plus Eventers Challenge at the Longines Royal International Horse Show Hickstead this week - watch how he and the other riders tackled the unique track in the video of the full competition
The new class is now kept within the arena and this year only event riders were eligible to compete, which allowed the cross-country fences to become more technical and demanding on a new course designed by Richard Taylor, who has been part of the course-building team at two European eventing championships, the Asian Games and the Beijing Olympics. All the fences in Hickstead's Amlin Plus Eventers' Challenge were rustic cross-country obstacles, with some fixed fences and others that can be knocked down.
