The second edition of the Indoor Cross Country presented by Rolex, which will take place during the evening of Saturday 12th December, has already stirred up a lot of interest with an exceptional line up of participants.
The world’s n° 1 of the discipline, the German rider Michael Jung, has confirmed that he will be riding, as well as the double Olympic champion, Mark Todd and the double Individual European champion and Team Olympic champion, the Frenchman Nicolas Touzaint.
After a highly successful first edition of the Indoor Cross Country presented by Rolex, the organisers of the CHI Geneva did not hesitate to once again programme this unique class in Switzerland. The course, built by Peter Hasenböhler, that will again challenge the riders to get as close as possible to a defined ideal time, will be extended this year and present a total of 27 efforts.
This rendez-vous, which is in the midst of becoming a ‘must-see’, as much for the promotion of the discipline as for the riders who enjoy taking part in it. The world n° 1, Olympic champion, World champion and European champion, the German rider Michael Jung has confirmed he will be participating in Geneva.
He will be competing alongside his compatriot and fellow podium comrade Dirk Schrade. The New Zealander, Mark Todd, the sole and unique double Individual Olympic champion, will too be present. His fellow team member, Bruce Haskell, President of the International Event Riders Association, will again come to Geneva.
The French delegation will be present in force with Nicolas Touzaint, double Individual European champion and Team Olympic champion, as well as Sidney Dufresnes, winner of the recent Indoor Cross in Stuttgart ahead of Michael Jung and Mark Todd, and Thomas Carlile, third last year in the Palexpo arena. The bronze medalists of the last World Championships, the Dutch riders Merel Blom and Tim Lipps, will be joining the list of impressive riders coming to Geneva. We are happy to welcome an up and coming rider, Emily Llewellyn who will be coming to Geneva for her first time this December.
On the Swiss side, the nationally renowned Vogg brothers, Felix and Ben will be taking part, as well as Camille Guyot and Melody Johner, both having demonstrated good performances this season. Other international riders will be announced beginning of December, to bring the participation to a toal number of 20.
