We do hope that Nessie makes an appearance in our videos!
Swalcliffe Park Equestrian (SPE) is a family run equestrian centre six miles from Banbury in the heart of Warwickshire hunting country and this weekend over 600 competitors will be taking part in BE80 (T), BE90, BE100 classes. The equestrian centre was established in 1998 as a cross country training facility and now not only offers great training facilities for riders and horses of all levels but also runs Pony Club, Adult Riding Club and British Eventing competitions throughout the year.
Richard builds and designs most of the courses here but his course designing doesn’t stop there – in partnership with course builder David Evans, he has been involved with the building of courses at two European Championships (Blenheim 2005 and Luhmuhlen 2011), an Asian Games (Guangzhou, China 2010) and an Olympic Games (Beijing 2008).
The training areas of Swalcliffe Park are decorated with numerous feature fences such as the infamous caterpillars, the Ariat ducks and the Blenheim fox so we really hope we’re going to see some interesting fences out on course in our cross country videos! Although the classes are geared towards less experienced horses or riders, there are plenty of riders to keep an eye on including Emma Dougall, Nicky Roncoroni, Jodie Amos, Aoife Clark, Sammi Birch (Mcleod), Ginny Howe, Spencer Sturmey, Tiana Coudray and the very busy President of Event Riders International, Bruce Haskell (who apparently will be wearing pink boots!)
