Update on William Fox-Pitt: 17.11.2015
William has made good progress with his recovery and has now been discharged from hospital to continue his rehab at home.
“It is fantastic to be back home, it feels like it has been a long time away from my family,” said William, “I would like to thank all the doctors in France from the team at Le Lion D’Angers to those who looked after me in the ICU in Angers. The rehab team in Poole General Hospital have been incredibly thorough.
“The team at home have been doing an amazing job keeping everything going but luckily everything is quiet as the horses are all on their end of season break. I am looking forward to making a full recovery over the winter.”
The family continue to ask for privacy as William recovers.
William Fox-Pitt, update 10/11/2015
William continues to make really good progress from the head injury he suffered following a fall at Lion D’Angers on 17th October. As a result he flew back to England yesterday and his rehabilitation will now continue there.
His wife Alice says “His recovery is likely to take time, but he is up and about and improving day by day. We are exceptionally grateful for the huge amount of support we have received.”
The family continue to ask for privacy as William recovers, and as a result official updates will be issued via the Fox-Pitt Eventing website periodically

Fantastic news regarding the improvement in William Fox-Pitt's health following his fall at Le Lion d'Angers
British Eventing reports that
"William's condition has improved enough for him to be moved out of the intensive care unit.
He remains in hospital in France. His family remain hugely grateful to the fantastic team looking after him and to everyone for all the messages and support"

Some good news regarding William's condition after a bad fall at Le Lion d'Angers and subsequent treatment at the hospital in Angers where he has been sedated to help recovery of the trauma to the brain since the accident on October 17th. British Eventing has advised that
"William has made progress over the weekend; today he is conscious, breathing on his own and communicating with his family and doctors, however he is still very ill.
He and his family are very grateful for all the support and messages, it is hugely appreciated.
Further progress is going to take time, so please continue to respect the family’s privacy"

William Fox-Pitt is reported to be in a stable condition following a bad fall and head trauma at Le Mondial du Lion
The organisers have issued the following statement
“The penultimate rider to start in the 7 year old Mondial du Lion Cross Country, rider number 68, William Fox Pitt and his horse Reintated fell at obstacle number 20, an owl hole.
The emergency teams arrived immediately and gave William all necessary care in order to manage his evacuation to the Angers Hospital.
Medical examinations are in progress, he is in a stable condition. His horse Reinstated was uninjured. More information will be provided when available”
William’s official Twitter updates have confirmed that he has suffered a head trauma and will remain in hospital tonight but have confirmed that he is in a stable condition
