In recent times we’ve found out a little more about being an eventing steward thanks to Chris Wallace and Caroline Jones
If you have ever considered becoming a steward but had no idea of how to go about it, here’s your chance to find out more. In July and August Equestrian Australia is offering a series of courses designed to accredit Stewards across all disciplines.
The National Stewards Course will be offered in each of the six mainland states and provide interested candidates the opportunity to be officially recognised as a National Steward.
The course is designed to offer a standardised pathway across the country into Stewarding. The Stewards accreditation course offers a single day of general training and an Open Rule Book Test (ORBT) which all applicants must complete.
The final step of the accreditation process is for the applicant to assist at three events of their chosen disicpline. Upon completion, stewards will become nationally accredited and receive an EA Stewards vest.
The dates of each course are:
South Australian Course, Saturday 20th July at Equestrian SA Office.
Victorian Course, July 27 July at Werribee Park NEC.
Queensland Course, Saturday 3rd August at Sports House South.
Western Australian Course, Sunday 4th August at State Equestrian Centre, Brigadoon.
