Michael Jung proved once again why he is such a champion as he moved into the lead after cross country at the Longines FEI European Championships at Blair Castle. Michael and his nine year old chestnut gelding make the course look easy as they stormed around under the optimum time, one of only three combinations to achieve that today, to finish on their dressage score of 33.50
Michael was fortunate that he went early in the day before the ground and conditions deteriorated too much but even so his horse looked as if he would have coped with worse conditions. Michael pumped the air as he came through the finish flags then cantered fischerTakinou around for a short while with the horse looking remarkably fresh and happy.
We spoke to Michael straight after he had completed his round
Our full report coming up soon from a very wet but very exciting day at Blair Castle ....
