Which State will win?

A new comp launched - State of Origin on Horseback

Queensland Riders throw down the gauntlet

A new State-against-State competition has been launched with organisers calling for Event riders from New South Wales and Queensland to vie for bragging rights at the upcoming Davcar Horse Floats 2013 Queensland International three-day event.

The inaugural State of Origin on horseback will be played out at Morgan Park, Warwick as part of the Queensland International three-day event series (March 21 – 24, 2013).

The competition is bound to ignite traditional interstate rivalries and Event President Dr Cameron Osborne said he expects the Queensland riders to triumph.

“We believe Australia’s best eventers hail from Queensland and we’d like to prove it by offering riders from over the border a chance to show what they’re made of. You only need to look at the likes of Olympians Rebel Morrow and gold medallist Stuart Tinney” he said.

To sweeten the deal the committee is offering a winner takes all purse.

“We’ve got five-thousand dollars for the winning team. And riders representing their State will have their stabling and entry fee costs waved. There’s also $1,000  prize money for the best individually placed rider,” Dr Osborne said.

Now in its fourth year, the Davcar Horse Floats 2013 QLD International three day event has been growing steadily in popularity with Queensland riders. Extensive work has been done to improve the course.

“We have new jumps, and improved surfaces. Every year we’ve been putting money back into the course - Everything from aerating the cross country course through to booking round-the-clock entertainment,” Dr Osborne said.

“And in 2014 we’ll reinvest again to create even better facilities and offer even more prize money.  We have a dedicated committee and passionate supporters who want to see this event grow. There’s no reason why the Davcar Horse Floats Queensland International three-day event can’t be as important as Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne in a few years.” Dr Osborne said.

The Davcar Horse Floats 2013 QLD International 3 day event would not be possible with out sponsorship from trusted companies including Davcar Horse Floats, Oz Shotz,  Pryde’s EasiFeed, Black Toyota, Top Horse, Jester Hill Wines, Searles Garden Products, Warwick Motor Inn, Aussie Blue Heeler Products, Rug Repairs by Reg. The event has also received backing from the Australian Government – Australian Sports Commission, Federation Equestre Internationale, Equestrian Australia and Equestrian Queensland.
