Equestrian Australia (EA) will be holding its annual Sport Achievement Awards on Tuesday 30 April 2013 at a new venue, Le Montage in Lilyfield, Sydney.
This important evening celebrates the highest achievers in the sport past and present. In 2011 Equestrian Australia introduced the Equestrian Hall of Fame to immortalise the outstanding achievements of its members throughout the history of the sport. EA looks forward to inducting more greats of the sport in 2013.
“2012 was another big year for equestrian members both at home and internationally and we’re looking forward to celebrating the major milestones,” said Equestrian Australia CEO, Grant Baldock.
“The EA Sport Achievement Awards is the one night we can bring together equestrian members from around the country and celebrate the great work of our riders, owners, administrators, volunteers, officials, coaches, Clubs and event organisers, who make the sport successful.
“It also provides us with the opportunity to recognise the significant achievements of the legends of our sport through the EA Hall of Fame.
“EA would like to once again thank its presenting sponsor for the Awards Night, Gow Gates Insurance Brokers, who continue to support not only Equestrian Australia but grassroots events and clubs around the country,” he said.
The 2013 Sport Achievement Awards finalists will be nominated by the EA State Branches (for the categories Club of the Year, Event of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year and Owner of the Year). The National Selectors will nominate finalists for International and Domestic Horse of the Year, International and Domestic Athlete of the Year as well as Young Athlete of the Year.
Last year’s winners included Edwina Alexander (International Athlete), Cevo Itot du Chateau (International Horse), Rachael Sanna (Domestic Athlete), Jaybee Alabaster (Domestic Horse) and Tom McDermott (Young Athlete)
