Will Enzinger (above) has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the National Eventing Committee (NEC) following today’s committee meeting in Sydney.
Enzinger takes on the role as Chairperson having formerly been the committee’s athlete representative. He replaces outgoing Chair Gill Rolton who was recently appointed as the athlete representative on the EA national board.
Rolton was required to step down from the position at today’s meeting as she has served as the NEC Chairperson for the maximum time that current committee rules permit.
Enzinger is a popular and highly respected member of the eventing community who has enjoyed success as a rider and trainer. Victorian based, he is a level one EA NCAS coach and currently competes at the elite level.
With the exception of Gill Rolton, the National Eventing Committee remains unchanged and consists of: Caroline Jones (SA), Barry Roycroft (VIC), Tony Walls (QLD), Richard Ireland (TAS), PollyAnn Hunginton (WA) and Shane Rose (NSW).
Enzinger said the NEC was capable of keeping the discipline of eventing progressing.
“I am pleased to be representing such a highly regarded group of individuals who are well equipped with the knowledge and expertise to keep Australian eventing moving forward.
“I believe eventing is in good hands with this committee and I am pleased that we have a diverse group including coaches and officials as well as riders involved.”
Enzinger’s term as Chair is for a 12 month period. Applications for the position of athlete representative on the NEC will be detailed on the EA website.
