The stallion Chilli Morning who moved to Mary King from Nick Gauntlett’s yard late last year has now been taken over by William Fox-Pitt.
On his website William says;
“The news this week is that I have been offered the ride on the stallion Chilli Morning and I am excited to see how I get on with him.
Mary King, who took over the ride from Nick Gauntlett at the begining of this season, had been finding him quite big and strong so after Belton suggested to his owner Chris Stone that maybe I should see how I get along with him.
He is a lovely horse who has been very well produced by Nick and I am very much looking forward to him arriving in the next few days”
At Burghley last year Mary was very keen about the stallion as a sire as her top mare King’s Temptress has had offspring by embryo transfer by him. However it appears that Mary believes that he is too strong a ride for her and, following elimination on cross country at Belton Horse Trials last week, has decided that he would be better suited to another rider
