London Olympic eventing job on offer

How about this for a very cool job? London 2012 is now looking to appoint an Assistant Eventing Manager who will report to the Eventing Manager. They will assist in coordinating preparations for the management of the Eventing discipline as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games. LOCOG is looking to appoint an Assistant Eventing Manager who will report to the Eventing Manager and will assist in coordinating preparations for the management of the Eventing discipline as part of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Key responsibilities/accountabilities:

  • Supporting the Eventing Manager in the day to day project management and operational planning for the discipline of Eventing within the Equestrian programme including providing discipline specific input into venue planning and delivery.
  • In relation to the Eventing athletes, team officials, grooms and technical officials, support the Eventing Manager in liaising with other LOCOG functional areas to ensure the coordinated and successful delivery of support services such as accreditation, security, transport, medical, media operations, protocol, villages (including Grooms Village) and broadcast.
  • Assist the Eventing Manager in liaising with the cross country course designer, her build team and the volunteers in planning for and delivery of the field of play for all Eventing sessions of competition.
  • Work with the Eventing Manager to ensure the successful procurement, delivery and management of all Eventing related sport equipment.
  • Support the Equestrian Services Manager in all matters relating to the communication with, appointment, training, rostering and uniform distribution for all Eventing related workforce.
  • Support the Equestrian Services Manager in all matters relating to the communication with, appointment, travel, and uniform distribution for all Eventing related technical officials.
  • Work with the Dressage & Jumping Manager and Assistant Dressage & Jumping Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the these aspects of the Eventing Competition.
  • Work with the wider Equestrian Sport Team post Eventing competition to assist in the successful delivery of the full Equestrian programme.
  • Work with the Eventing Manager in communicating with and managing all Eventing related technical officials and workforce during the events.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the Eventing Manager.
