Hartpury College will host the 2020 FEI Junior and Young Rider European Eventing Championships
The 2020 British Eventing Calendar is now published, and we are now in the process of preparing our UK 2020 Cross Country Video Calendar which we hope to bring you very soon
But here is a little taste of just some of the exciting new venues and Championships we’ll be filming at in 2020, following the publication of the BE Calendar
FEI Junior and Young Rider European Championships
The annual FEI Junior and Young Rider European Eventing Championships will take place in 2020 at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire from 27th July – 2nd August.
As well as filming at the usual Hartpury CCI4* event (August 13th - 16th) we’re delighted that we will be filming all competitors on cross country at the FEI Junior and Young Rider European Championships
Belsay International – British Pony Championships
Belsay Castle in Northumberland will this year host the British Pony Championships and introduce a new International class, the Audi CCI2*-S
We’ll be back at beautiful Belsay to film all competitors from 28th – 30th May
New British Eventing Venues
British Eventing has announced some changes to the 2020 Calendar with three new and returning venues to the British Eventing calendar, and we will be filming at all three venues
- Cirencester Park, Gloucestershire 21st – 22nd March (replacing Gatcombe 1)
- Thoresby Park International, Nottinghamshire from 27th – 29th March (replacing Belton International)
- Cornbury International, Oxfordshire from 11th – 13th September (replacing Gatcombe International)
New Classes
We will also be filming at two of the three venues that will include pilot CCI1*- Intro classes, introduced to the international calendar by the FEI in 2018 and being piloted by BE in 2020 at
- Chilham Castle (2), Kent (25 - 26 July)
- Blair Castle International, Perthshire, Scotland (27 – 30 August)
New Four-Year-Old Showcase at Osberton International
Osberton International incorporating the BE Young Horse Championships (8th – 11th October) is one of our favourite video events of the season and this year British Eventing and BEDE Events are introducing a new ‘Showcase’ for four-year-old horses
The new Showcase will replace the Four-Year-Old championship at Osberton and there will no longer be specific four-year-old qualifying classes. Instead, four-year-old horses will be able to compete in up to four normal BE80(T) and/or BE90 classes between July and October, providing qualification to the Showcase
Relocation of BE90 and BE100 Regional Finals
BE90 and BE100 Regional Finals for the 2020 Science Supplement Cup that were abandoned in 2019 due to weather conditions have been re-allocated and we will be filming at two of them early in the year
- Oasby (1), 5 – 8 March 2020 – BE100RF (replacement of Norton Disney (2))
- Swalcliffe Park, 14 – 15 March 2020– BE100RF (replacement of Broadway (2))
We’ll be back soon with our full calendar and lots more info about what is coming up at our British cross country events in 2020
