Badminton Horse Trials is gearing up for 2020, revealing a sneak preview of one new element of the course – the new Broken Bridge
The second CCI5* event of 2020, that will run from Wednesday 6th – Sunday 10th May, is famous for its traditional big, bold fences and course designer Eric Winter, along with James Willis and the Willis Bros course building team, are already busy on the Badminton Estate. They have marked out the 2020 course and one exciting new feature will be the Broken Bridge
“It’s dramatic looking fences like this that really make a course exciting to ride as well as watch” says Eric
This will be Eric’s fourth year as course designer but, as we found out when Sam Clark talked to him at the preview day last year, he isn’t one who likes to get too ‘comfortable’ in his course design
“I like to feel a little bit like the riders do, that you’re challenged, it will be interesting to do, and you don’t quite know what’s going to happen”
The Broken Bridge will certainly keep the spectators and riders on the edge of their seats!
