Sam Griffiths and Happy Times at Burghley 2014
Australia’s Sam Griffiths and Chris Burton are two of the first withdrawals from the 2016 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials
Sam has withdrawn the 17 year old Happy Times who was third at Burghley in 2014 but still has his Badminton-winning mare Paulank Brockagh on the list while Chris has withdrawn his 4* winner, the Australian thoroughbred TS Jamaimo. Chris still has two other entries in Haruzac and Nobilis 18
Paul Tapner riding Vanir Kamir and Bill Levett on Improvise, who went so well at Fontainebleau recently are the other Australian combinations listed.
Paul Tapner’s previous mount Indian Mill, who finished 14th at Badminton last year, is another withdrawal from the list. Indian Mill moved to his new home with Phillip Dutton in the USA in January 2016 and was Phillip’s only entry for Badminton this year. Britain’s Rose Carnegie and Landline have also withdrawn
This means that New Zealand’s Jesse Campbell riding Kaapachino joins Britain’s Paul Sims riding Glengarnock onto the Accepted list and off the Wait List. Ireland’s Sam Watson riding Horseware Bushman has also moved onto the Accepted list after it was discovered that an error was found in their points tally. Maybe Equiratings did some stats for them?
