Imogen Murray rocketed up the leaderboard after cross country to finish in the top 10
The stand out star of cross country at the 2019 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials was Ivar Gooden as Imogen Murray proved yet again what a cross country machine this horse is. The 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding was bought by Aivar Ward and his wife Terry Morris at the Gorsebridge Sales (“for not a lot of money”) with the intention of re-selling him then a chance meeting in a pub resulted in Imogen, who lives locally, getting the ride.
In 2017 Ivar Gooden completed his first four-star at Badminton and at the end of that year was only one of only two horses to have completed both Badminton and Burghley with a double clear.
Last year the combination finished in 11th place at Badminton to win the Glentrool Trophy for the highest climb of 54 places after dressage; this year they finished in eighth place and one again took home the Glentrool Trophy, proving once again that this is no dressage test ….
