Congratulations to all winners at Belton International but especially the nine winners of our cross country videos.
Take some time to watch some of the very best horses and riders across the levels including the young up and comers Emily King and Mollie Summerland. Tom Jackson, winner of the CIC3* Section N, is another young rider showing huge promise, winning here on Billy Cuckoo with plenty of encouragement from his trainer and previous rider of the 11 year old mare, Pippa Funnell, during the competition. Keep an eye out during Tom’s video for the Belton 10k ‘fun run’ competitors in the background towards the end of the course – did no-one tell them to bring a horse?
Of course it is always well worth while watching superstars such as Tim Price, Chris Burton, Piggy French and Izzy Taylor. Chris won the CIC2* on Bahira M, a nine year old grey mare previously ridden by Swedish rider Hedvig Wik who is currently busy at University, and will be yet another in Chris’ talented line-up of young horse to keep an eye on in the future
It seems a long time since we spoke to Tom Carlile about his young stallion Tenareze in France but we have always had a soft spot for this lovely bay horse who could jump the moon – just watch Harry Meade and Tenareze in the video below to see what we mean. The horse that won back to back World Young Horse Championships at Le Lion d’Angers in 2013 and 2014 is no longer a stallion and he and Harry looks like a real partnership now – another combination that could have a big future
So, pour yourself your favourite tipple, sit back and watch how these winning combinations tackled the courses at Belton International
