Following the first horse inspection at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, the riders are invited to submit their horse for an inspection for the best shod horse of the event, sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Farriers and judged by Mark Watson AWCF
Mark explained what he was looking for and how good shoeing can provide that ‘little extra’ performance required as this high level of competition
This year the award was won by Ivar Gooden, ridden by Imogen Murray and shod by Paul Varnam
