Felicity Collins - 2017 British National Under 21 Champion

The 2017 British National Under 21 Champion Felicity Collins is interviewed by BETV

19 year old Felicity Collins pulled off the biggest win of her career so far at the Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton International, taking the CCI2* Young Rider Championship, and with it the British National Under 21 title, riding the eight year old RSH Contend Or

In fourth place after the dressage the pair added nothing to their first day score of 44.1 on Saturday’s cross country and went into the final phase on Sunday afternoon in equal second place. Both Sam Ecroyd and Felicity piled the pressure on the leader Emily King who had one rail down on Walitze F Vejgard to drop to fifth place and, although Sam and Felicity both finished on the same score of 44.1, the win went to Felicity thanks to her double clear cross country round while Sam had to be content with second place on his eight year old gelding The Quiet Man

RHS Contend Or, who finished ninth at the FEI Junior European Championships for Great Britain with Felicity in 2016, is really just starting his career, having been eventing for just 18 months but Felicity has high hopes for this special horse

“He’s a seriously special horse and I’m lucky to have found him” Felicity tells us “I think he’s going to be my four star horse”
