Ireland’s Esib Power riding Doonaveeragh O One took out the Indoor Eventing title and a John Deere tractor at the Swedish International Horse Show last night

The popular show in Stockholm draws together eventing riders from various nations to compete both individually and as teams in the invitational class which Esib narrowly won on a score of 74.68 ahead of Faye Füllgraebe, the girlfriend of Michael Jung, riding Oje Oje (74.75) and last year’s winner, Ingrid Klimke on Parmenides in third (74.77)

After the completion of the German Stuttgart Masters Indoor Eventing earlier in the week some of the obstacles are transported directly from the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart to Stockhol where Gerd Haiber also designs the course. Both events are big crowd pleasers which receive enthusiastic support from the locals, especially for the home team which this year comprised Niklas Lindbäck on Cendrillon, Sara Algotsson Ostholt on Reality, Ludwig Svennerstål on Stinger and Hanna Berg  on Quite Survivor that finished in second place

But it was the German team that triumphed with Ingrid Klimke on Parmenides, Peter Thomsen on Caspar, Hanna Knüppel on Carismo and Freya Füllgraebe and Oje Oje taking home the team prize

The individual winner Esib Power was part of a New Zealand composite team which also included Sammi Birch on Nimrod II, Dan Jocelyn on Beaucatcher and Grant Wilson on HHS Foracruise, finishing in third while Great Britain’s team of Fiona Breach on Kilcannon Harley Cruise, Abigail Kate Walters on Winsome Control, Harriet Dickin on Dargle Looks and Tom McEwen on Diesel finished fourth
