The European Indoor Cross Country winter season has resumed in 2024 with Saumur in France hosting its indoor cross country competition on Saturday 27th January.
Although not one of the formally FEI CIX accredited competitions, the Indoor Cross Country at Saumur is part of the Journees du Complet held at Saumur, the well-known home of the IFCE and Cadre-Noir and of course the International eventing competition held in April, which this year will return to hosting a CCI4*-L.
The Journees du Complet (Eventing Days) this year featured masterclasses by Olympic gold champion, Julia Krajewski and Maxime Livio.
But it was Francois Pons riding Venus De Bordenave who took the top spot in the Indoor Cross Country on Saturday evening with the fastest time of 79.66 (optimal time 90 secs) ahead of Julie Simonet riding her 4* horse Sursumcord’Or (82.32) and Jospehine Heteau riding Vif D’Or Lily in third (84.88)
