‘Tis the season for riders dressing up and we love this photo of the top 10 dressage riders at this week’s Sweden International Horse Show.
The stars of the Lövsta Top 10 Dressage are supporting the initiative "Pippi of Today", for girls on the move. This year's press photo with the top 10 riders, including Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, Patrik Kittel and Isabell Werth sees them all dressed as Pippi Longstocking, the main character in a series of horse-centric children's books by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren.
Since 2020, Save the Children and The Astrid Lindgren Company, has put a light on the situation of girls on the move through the Pippi of Today initiative. "Today, millions of girls are forced to leave their homes and move, not only to new cities, but also to new countries. Overcoming challenges and finding the way to a brighter future requires strength, courage and hope" says the Fundraiser website, where you can donate.
But what a shame they didn't have the Agria Top 10 Indoor Eventing riders in the photo too - we think that Boyd Martin and Maxime Livio, who go head-to-head in the Indoor Eventing final tonight, would have looked wonderful in these wigs!
