Seven international events comprising more than 60 classes, including the fifth leg of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup series, the FEI Eventing Championships for Junior and Young Riders and the Polish Championships are on the calendar for Strzegom Horse Trials in Stragona, Poland in 2024.
Strzegom Spring Open
5th – 7th April: Strzegom Spring Open I – CCI4*-S, CCI3*-S, CCI2*-S, CCI1*-Intro, CNC 100, CNC 100-18, CNC 80
18th – 21st April: Strzegom Spring Open II – CCI4*-L, CCI4*-S, CCI3*-L, CCI3*-S, CCI2*-L, CCI2*-S, CCI1*-Intro, CNC 100, CNC 100-18, CNC 90
As a warm-up, the Strzegom Spring Open gets underway with two competitions, on the first and third weekend of April. The first weekend will host four short format international classes from 1* - 4* will be held, as well as national classes while the second weekend also features long format classes.
“For many riders, this will be the first 4* run of the year, so the cross-country courses will be designed to allow the riders to smoothly introduce their horses to the season. In April, the parameters of the cross obstacles always correspond to the rank of the class, while the technical combinations are considerably easier than they will be during the Nations Cup competition in June. All the routes are already thoroughly designed, and as of February we are already planning the layout of the fences for the first show" says Marcin Konarski, cross-country course designer.
May CNC National Competition
18th -19th May: CNC 2*, CNC 1*, CNC 100, CNC 100-18, CNC 90
In mid-May, the calendar will also feature a national competition organised separately from the international one. This will feature five classes at 2*, 1*, 100, 100-18 and 90cm.
LOTTO Strzegom Horse Trials & FEI Eventing Nations Cup
20th – 23rd June: Strzegom Horse Trials
CCI4*-L, CCIO4*-NC-S, CCI3*-L, CCI3*-S, CCIY3*-S, CCI2*-L, CCI2*-S, CCIJ2*-S, CCIP2-S, CCI1*-Intro.
The flagship event, the Strzegom Horse Trials, will feature the fifth leg of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup series.
“For many horse and rider combinations, this will be the last show before the Olympic Games in Paris, so this year's course will be aimed at building form and confidence before the Games and will be a little less intense compared to the previous edition” says Marcin Konarski.
There will be six classes from 2* to 4* level in both formats and an the Intro class, along with classes for young riders, juniors and ponies, including the Junior and Young Rider Polish Championships.
Summer and European Championships
2nd – 4th August: Strzegom Summer Tour CCI4*-S, CCI3*-S, CCI2*-S, CCI1*-Intro, CNC 100, CNC 100-18, CNC 90
22nd – 25th August: FEI European Eventing Championships for Young Riders and Juniors CH-EU-Y-CCI3*-L, CH-EU-J-CCI2*-L, CCIU25-4*-S, CCIJ-1*-Intro
Following the Strzegom Summer Tour starts at the beginning of August, the FEI European Eventing Championships for Young Riders and Juniors will be held alongside CCI4-U25 and CCIJ-U16 competitions.
These classes, aimed at the younger and older youth age group, will allow the riders to experience the championship atmosphere and help them prepare for maybe joining their national team ranks in the coming seasons.
Autumn & International Young Horses Competition & Polish Championships
12th – 15th September: Polish Championships for Young Horses in Dressage, Jumping and Eventing
20th – 22nd September: Strzegom Autumn Show

The penultimate weekend of September is the time for Strzegom Autumn Show, incorporating the Polish Senior Championships. Strzegom Autumn Show is also organised with young horses in mind in the CCI1*-Intro 5yo, CCI2*-S 6yo, CCI3*-S 7yo and CCI4*-8/9YH.
“Bearing in mind that this is a competition for young horses, the cross-country courses will be set up to meet the requirements for each age category. However, they will differ from open competitions, where these will be slightly more demanding" adds Marcin Konarski.
October Festival & European Youth Eventing Masters

As always at the end of the season, the riders are invited to Strzegom October Festival to compete in classes at all levels of difficulty alongside the team and individual competition of the European Youth Eventing Masters tournament.
